Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration (Www.SAMHSA.gov) is a website based to inform and educate the public on substance abuse topics, different substance addictions (how to detect them and what are the symptoms), also services related to substance abuse such as treatment locations. The purpose of this site is to put a stop to substance abuse. To stop the substance abuse it is imperative to educate on not only what each substance is, where it originated from, what used for, the different methods of usage, the effects and how to stop usage of each substance. Along with the substance abuse is also mental health issues that majority are related to substance usage and mental health issues not associated with substance usage.
This site has an astronomical amount of educational information on each substance, as well as treatment locations. Along with the educational information, this site also offers detailed demographics of usage to help educate the public and make all aware of their personal demographics and effectiveness of substance abuse. HIV/AIDS education offered on this site along with supportive services and help centers. Prevention of suicide and specifically prevention of teen suicide are important topics that education of public is another focus. This site is informative along with a main resource on finding the resources to fit the needs of viewers in any community across the United States.
