Greek prime minister pledges to meet fiscal targets despite recession amid protests

THESSALONIKI, Greece — Greece's prime minister has promised to meet ambitious fiscal targets for 2011 and save the debt-crippled country from bankruptcy.

In a keynote speech on the economy Saturday, George Papandreou pledged to press on with vital reforms to improve fiscal discipline and secure continued payment of international rescue loans.
