Astronaut Mark Kelly supposed to fly in air races in Nev. before crash cancels weekend events

TUCSON, Ariz. — Astronaut Mark Kelly was supposed to fly in this weekend's air races in Nevada, which were canceled because of a deadly crash.

Kelly is the husband of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot in the head while meeting with constituents in Tucson on Jan. 8.

Giffords' spokesman Mark Kimble told the Arizona Daily Star (http://bit.ly/q4dRZ1 ) Saturday that Kelly was in Reno for the annual aviation event as a guest of a watch company.
