Back in 2008 the company merged with Favrille Biotech and is located in the Los Angeles area after the website has been online for around 6 months or so. We don’t hear too much in the news about the company but they are yet another PHR for patients to sign up and use and I am guessing based on the content here that the hopes are to expand the same availability to parts of China which would make sense for their investment.
Favrille Biotech and MyMedicalRecords.com, Inc. Announce Merger Agreement
“MyMedicalRecords is built on proprietary, patented technologies that allow documents, images and voicemail messages to be transmitted and stored using a variety of methods, including fax, e-mail, phone, or file upload, creating an integrated communications platform that does not rely on any specific electronic medical record (EMR) system to populate a user's account. In the event of an emergency or disaster, medical personnel and first responders can retrieve potentially lifesaving information accessible via a separate Emergency Login.
MMRGlobal's professional solution for healthcare providers, MyMedicalRecordsMD (MMRPro), is designed to give physicians and hospitals an easy and cost-effective solution to digitizing paper-based medical records and sharing them with patients in real time through the integrated patient portal MMRPatientView. MMRPro's feature set includes an e-Prescribing solution to improve safety and costs.”
Thinking back it has been a while since I covered anything here on the company but looking at the board of advisors members kind of refreshed my memory seeing Buzz Aldrin, Sugar Ray Leonard , a US Congressman Richard Gephardt (wonder if he uses the PHR, I would be shocked and pleasantly surprised to hear yes on that one) and a few other folks. Now that Google Health is winding down here’s another alternative and it appears they were already a partner so transferring records might be easy enough. If you need to look up a drug they have the Cerner Multum listing on the site as well. BD
