The District will end the fiscal year with at least an extra $60 million in cash that city leaders will be able to spend or set aside in reserve funds, according to revised revenue projections expected to be released later Friday.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Chief Financial Officer Natwar Gandhi has been briefing city leaders on the unexpected windfall. The reason for the additional revenue was not yet clear to the sources, who asked for anonymity because there has not yet been a public announcement.
